Your Recreation is Our Business

Since 1956 Southgate Recreation & Park District (SRPD) has provided the community with public parks, recreation services, facilities, and an 18-hole championship golf course. Throughout the years, our community has seen the evolution of the South Sacramento and Vineyard area; its growing and changing business base, incredible residential growth, and the District’s emphasis on preserving open space and creating walkable communities.

The final Schematic Design Plans for the Vineyard Community Center, Churchill Downs North Community Park, and District Support Facility have been approved by the District   Board. Learn More

Due to current favorable market interest rates, the District was able to obtain additional financing that will allow us to complete the design and construction of an aquatic swim facility along with the community    center. Learn More

Rainbow Park Community Garden

The District is in the process of creating a community garden at Rainbow Park with help from Bill Maynard, Founder of the Sacramento Area Community Garden Coalition. This community garden will give residents a space to start their own garden; learn the many benefits that gardening can have; and interact with neighbors and share gardening tips and advice.
