By and large the park will remain unfenced while the remaining work is being completed. There may be a few intermittent days where Olympic will close off the park to do the necessary work. The District will accept the park only when in our opinion the quality of work is to our satisfaction. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
The Southgate Silver Leaf Park is located within the Silver Meadows/Silver Legends subdivision (west of Vineyard Road and north of Calvine Road) at the corner of Silver Meadows Way and Country Ranch Way. The park, was designed by Craig Park of Craig Park Associates, and constructed by Olympic Landscape.
District staff and the architect met with community residents to get their input as to what they wanted in this neighborhood park. Comments from the community were used along with input from District staff and the Board to arrive at the completed design. The park includes toddler and school-aged playgrounds, swings, benches, picnic tables with shade structures, a perimeter walking path, an open turf area and plenty of trees and colorful shrubs! The concrete work, and playground equipment has been installed along with the other site furnishings, and the grass, plants and trees are getting established.
The District hopes to open the park in early Spring 2004 and will have a park dedication event for the community at that time. Check this web page for further information regarding the future date for that event!
