NEVER-TOO-LATE-AEROBICS

A low-impact aerobics program designed specifically for anyone 50 years of age and older. This class will aid in the improvement of circulation, mobility, flexibility, muscle tone, balance and posture. Please wear comfortbale clothes and tennis shoes.

RHYTHM & MOTION CARDIO DANCE FITNESS (FOR SENIORS)

Join us for a cardio-intense dance class designed for seniors that uses a variety of music from around the world, creating a captivating class filled with fun moves for each song. Along with working the body, we will also work the mind by learning simple dance routines. No experience necessary.  This class is taught by Geno Torres, 2005 IDC National Jazz Dance Gold Champion (Senior Group Division).

WATERCOLOR FOR SENIORS

Create beautiful landscapes and still life with watercolors. Students will learn various techniques from dry brushing to color mixing. Students will use landscapes, still life, floral and people to practice and apply techniques. Go home with your own creation after every class!

AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM

Learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. The course fee is non-refundable: $15 for AARP members or $20 for non-AARP members. SOUTHGATE SEWING GROUP - FREE!

All are welcome to join the Southgate Sewing Group.  Participants should bring their own supplies, sewing machines, and current or unfinished projects to work on.  An iron and ironing board will be available for group use. There is no instructor provided, but members help one another. This is a great place to sew, knit, chat and make new friends. The group meets every Wednesday at the Fruitridge Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  For more information, please contact Nora Haley (916) 743-4028.

FRUITRIDGE PINOCHLE CLUB

The Fruitridge Pinochle card players gather every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and the second Tuesday of every month from 9:00a – 3:00p for a lively afternoon of pinochle at the Fruitridge Community Center. Players of all levels are encouraged to attend and participate. Tournaments are played the second Tuesday of each month.
 

FRUITRIDGE BRIDGE CLUB

The Fruitridge Bridge card players gather every Wednesday from 11:00a – 3:00p for a lively afternoon of bridge at the Fruitridge Community Center. Players of all levels are encouraged to attend and participate. 
 

SENIOR LUNCH PROGRAM

The Meals on Wheels by Asian Community Center program serves hot lunches at the Fruitridge Community Center for seniors 60 years and older.  Meals are available by reservation only with a suggested donation of $2.00 per meal. Guests of seniors are also invited to attend for a fee of $7.50 per meal.  Advance lunch reservations are required.  Reservations are due by 12:00 p.m. each Monday for meals being served the following week. Lunches are served Mondays - Fridays at 11:45 a.m.  Please call Ricky Fields for more information or to reserve your lunch at (916) 422-7610.
 

SOUTHGATE SUNSHINE CLUB

Daily activities and social opportunities are available for seniors living in South Sacramento.  Come and enjoy social interaction and a hot meal provided by Meals on Wheels by ACC.  All activities take place at the Fruitridge Community Center. Join your friends Monday - Friday from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, please call (916) 422-7610.
 

OVER 50 CLUB

The Fruitridge Over 50 Club meets each Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Fruitridge Community Center.  Weekly meetings include an update of recent and upcoming activities and may also feature entertainment.  Bingo is played after all regular meetings.  Members and invited guests may also participate in monthly trips.
