Jazzercise

Jazzercise includes a combination of today's popular music and easy-to-learn dance steps.  This class will strengthen your heart while burning fat. It includes a warm-up, 30 minutes of aerobic exerecise, strength training, and a cool down.

Zumba

Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program. The goal is simple: to work out, to love working out, and to get hooked. Zumba fanatics achieve longterm benefits while experiencing an exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you’ve got Zumba! Don’t forget to bring a sweat towel, comfortable clothing, athletic shoes and water.

This American Red Cross Course teaches lay responders to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies, and a variety of first aid emergencies. 

Upon successful completion of course requirments, participants will receive the following certifications: "Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED" & "First Aid"

Basics of Cake Decorating

Learn the basic techniques of how to decorate cupcakes/cakes by using buttercream and applying the Wilton Method. No experience necessary, just the interest and enthusiasm to learn some exciting ways of cake decorating. A $5.00 manual fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of class; students may bring own materials (list provided by instructor), or pay an additional $27.75 materials fee to instructor for student kit.

Cookie Decorating (mini-session)

Know More Diet

This program was designed by a registered dietitian and exercise physiologist. You will learn the best foods to supply nutrients for good health, and the appropriate amounts to allow for obtaining and maintaining a healthy weight. Taught by Irene Roltsch, MS, who teaches nutrition at Consumnes River and American River Colleges. She is also a Jazzercise instructor

Dance classes for youth are offered at Encore!, located on 9154 E. Stockton Blvd. Suite 100, Elk Grove. The following classes are available for children ages 2 years old and up:
• Me & My Shadow (ages 2-3 with a participating adult)
• First Steps in Dance (ages 3-4 without parent participation)
• Ballet & Tap Classes (ages 4.5-5.5)
• Hip Hop (ages 5 & up)

Kid Kicks (4-7 years)

This class is taught in a fun and games format. Children will learn the basics of blocking, punching and kicking. Children are taught in a fun positive manner so they can enjoy martial arts while learning valuable life skills. They learn respect for themselves and others and leadership skills. This class helps prepare your child to become successful in anything they wish to do.

Cerezo's Martial Arts (8-13 years)

This class is taught in a traditional format, teaching the basics of karate and jiu-jitsu. Children will learn the basics of blocking, punching and kicking with an emphasis on self-defense and bully prevention. Children are taught positive motivation techniques as well as self-motivation, respect for others and leadership skills. Rank advancement is possible in this class.

Introduction to Karate (6-12 years)

This introduction class covers the basics of Karate. Students are taught thrusting, blocking and kicking techniques. Please note that this is a disciplined class. Students will learn self-defense, mental discipline and physical fitness techniques. Students who complete the Introduction to Karate course are eligible for the Southgate Karate Club.

Karate Club (6-12 years)

Training techniques are designed to teach students the sport of Karate and self-protection techniques. The Kotakaha Shito-Ryu Karate style stresses the art as well as the sport. Students must present proof they have completed the Introduction to Karate class. This is a drop-in class; you may participate in a single one hour class per week on any of the days listed below.
