Job Skills Workshop

This workshop features information on how to make contacts, prepare for an interview, and increase your chances of getting hired. Applications for recreation positions will be accepted at this event.
Powerkick's for Fitness (15 years & over)
This class is taught in a traditional format, teaching the basics of karate and jiu-jitsu. Children will learn the basics of blocking, punching and kicking with an emphasis on self-defense and bully prevention. Children are taught positive motivation techniques as well as self-motivation, respect for others and leadership skills. Rank advancement is possible in this class.

The purpose of this American Red Cross is to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. Registration fees include participant manual, emergency reference guide, and CD-ROM.
Upon successful completion of course requirements, participants will receive the following certifications: Babysitter's Training

This American Red Cross course teaches lay responders to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory of cardiac emergencies, and a variety of first aid emergencies.
Upon successful completion of course requirements, participants will receive the following certifications: "Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED" and "First Aid".

Youth Intermediate Tennis
This class is for the young player age 7 to 13, who has little or no experience playing tennis. The class covers basic strokes such as forehand, backhand, and serving. Students will also be taught basic singles and doubles strategies, and how to keep score. Each student must bring two new (unopened) cans of tennis balls. Minimum enrollment must be met. Class time is subject to change due to enrollment.

Punt, Pass, and Kick
Flag Football teaches boys and girls ages 5-17 the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship and teamwork. All players will receive a NFL Flag Football reversible jersey, mouthpiece, certificate of participation and a trophy. Practices will take place during the week and games will be played on Saturdays.
