January Movie – Citizen Kane (1941)
Miss watching the movies of yesteryear? Having a hard time watching a classic and then having no one to discuss the movie with? Southgate Recreation & Park District is offering a chance to meet up with your friends and watch current and older movies at Pat O’Brien Community Center. Movies will begin at 1PM, the second Thursday of each month, and after, you are welcome to hang out and discuss the movie with others. Citizen Kane (1941)
A group of reporters are trying to decipher the last word ever spoken by Charles Foster Kane, the millionaire newspaper tycoon: “Rosebud.” The film begins with a news reel detailing Kane’s life for the masses, and then from there, viewers are shown flashbacks from Kane’s life. As the reporters investigate further, the viewers see a display of a fascinating man’s rise to fame, and how he eventually fell off the top of the world.
